Singapore - Must Do Activities

Updated: Nov 28, 2020

1. Visit Sentosa Island in Singapore

Best way to reach Sentosa Island is riding a cable car which in itself is a great experience one should have. It takes around 15-20 minutes to reach Sentosa Island and while riding the cable car one can get a top view of the island.

Before reaching the Island, you get a view like this;

This view from the top is so mesmerising and peaceful to eyes. You just fall in love with the nature and have no choice but appreciate its beauty. I would highly recommend to ride the cable car whenever you plan to visit Sentosa Island.

Sentosa Island has plenty of exciting offerings for visitors. Major attractions include Sea Aquarium, Universal Studios, Sentosa Beach, Water Show in evening, Go Karting etc.

One of the major attractions on Sentosa Island is the late evening "Magical Wings of Time" water show which is organised once in a day. Basically, there is a platform made near the Sentosa beach which can be seen in the above pic and a water show happens behind that.

During the show, we were fortunate to see the most beautiful time story on water. Different colours and running visuals are projected on the water which creates unbelievable visual delight for the audience. Below picture shows one of the visuals during the show. This show concludes your visit to Sentosa Island.

2. Visit Universal Studios in Singapore

This was by far the best place I visited in Singapore and would highly recommend. If you have a single day to explore Singapore then forget everything and just head to the Universal Studios. One whole day should be dedicated to it as it has so much to offer. There are 5-6 small theme parks inside Universal Studios and each theme park has its theme own rides and famous characters.

Universal Studios offer famous theme rides like Transformers, jurassic park water ride, etc. Once you reach the place you can get a map of the whole place along with the timings for various shows. Apart from the theme rides, short dance shows inspired by famous cartoon/movie characters are performed on the streets inside the Studio area. You can click thousands of pics with the famous characters walking on the streets and its lot of fun for kids. This is a place which caters to all types of visitors; be it solo travellers, family, groups, couples. All of them.

3. Visit S.E.A. Aquarium in Sentosa Island

Sentosa Island is full of amazing things and SEA Aquarium is certainly one of them. This is the best aquarium that I have seen till date. It has almost every sea species in there including the likes of Jellyfish, Manta Ray, Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, Clownfish, Penguins, Cowfish, etc.

Merlion statue is a must visit site not only because its the well known marketing icon of Singapore but it is also a national symbol which represents Singapore. Merlion is a combination of Lion and fish. Lion head having a body of fish. Its a nice spot from where you get a beautiful view of the famous 3 buildings of the Hotel Marina By Bay as can be seen in the below pic;

5. Visit Gardens by the Bay

This is also a great place to explore if you are a nature lover. Though its an artificial garden with nice interiors, you get a relaxing feeling while roaming around. There are few surprising elements inside the Gardens by the Bay like 4 storey in-door waterfall, various plant species form different parts of the world.
